The testing center uses best practices to reduce the risk of an outbreak in the community. The team encourages COVID-19 testing for patients experiencing common symptoms associated with the highly contagious virus, such as shortness of breath, fever, or loss of taste or smell.
For COVID testing, the team offers the nasal test or nasal swab. They also do viral tests using the molecular-based rT-PCR (reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction) test because it carries the highest sensitivity for detecting COVID-19 and reduces the risk of a false negative.
