A nasal swab is one of many servicecs offered at Getuwell. During the test, your provider collects samples of mucus from the back of your nose (nasopharyngeal area) and sends the sample out for testing.

To prevent false negative results, Getuwell uses the molecular-based rT-PCR (reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction) to test your sample.

If you have any of these symptoms or suspect you were exposed to someone who was might be sick, then you may benefit from nasal swab testing at Getuwell.

You may also need a nasal swab if you’re experiencing some of the common symptoms of upper respiratory infections , such as:

  • Shortness of breath
  • Fever
  • Muscle aches
  • Fatigue
  • Headaches
  • Cough

To learn more about the nasal swab test and whether it would benefit you or someone you love, contact Getuwell today to learn more.

Your nasal swab at Getuwell is a quick test that takes about five minutes. During your test, your provider inserts a cotton specimen swab into your nostril and pushes it through to your nasopharyngeal area, which is the area at the back of your nose.

Your provider rubs and rolls the swab to saturate it with mucus and saliva. For accurate results, the team at Getuwell may perform a nasal swab on both nostrils.

After collecting your specimens, the team sends your samples to the lab for testing. In most cases, you should have the results of your nasal swab within 24 hours.
